Joe (Peter Mullen) is an alcoholic, on the dole and spends his time coaching the local soccer team.  When he falls in love with health inspector Sarah Downie (Louise Goodall), Joe is faced with a agonizing choice. Should he help save his junkie mate Liam (David McKay) from a potentially dangerous situation, and risk losing Sarah, or should he do nothing for Liam and save his relationship with the woman he loves.
