Crocodile Dundee 3 will begin shooting at the Movie World Studios on Queensland’s Gold Coast in August. Naturally, Paul Hogan will star as Mick Dundee.

Universal Studios has ceased production of Dieter, in which Mike Myers was to star, after Myers’ pulled out of the project.

Nearly everybody’s favourite female comedian, Janeane Garofalo has joined the impressive cast that has signed to star in the Barry Sonnenfeld comedy, Big Trouble. Apart from Garofalo, the cast includes Tim Allen, Rene Russo, Tom Sizemore, Katie Holmes, Dennis Farina and Patrick Warburton (who starred as Puddy in Seinfeld).

The search continues for the latest big-screen Spiderman. Freddie Prinze Jr. is rumoured to be on the hitlist along with Tobey Maguire (The Cider House Rules), James Franco (Whatever It Takes) and Scott Speedman (from TV’s Felicity). Director Sam Raimi has reportedly already screen-tested most of the candidates.

Jim Carrey has backed out of starring in Joel Schumacher’s Phone Booth.

Shanghai Noon star Owen Wilson is in talks to star in the comedy Stealing Stanford. As the title loosely suggests, Wilson will star as a man who must turn to crime in order to finance his niece’s university fees.

Comedian Chris Rock is in-line to star as the part-human, part-machine hero in The Six Billion Dollar Man. Brothers Peter and Bobby Farrelly are to produce the film.

Director Adrian Lyne is on the lookout for a new male lead for his upcoming drama, Unfaithful, after George Clooney recently pulled out of the project..

Burt Reynolds will play a paralyzed former driver alongside Sylvester Stallone in the car racing action movie Champs. Stallone also wrote the script and Renny Harlin will direct.

Oscar nominee Chloe Sevigny (Boys Don’t Cry) may star in the World War II drama, Uprising. Jon Avnet (Up Close and Personal) will direct the film.

Saturday Night Live star Molly Shannon, soon to be seen on our screens in the comedy Superstar, is set to join the cast of the romantic comedy Serendipity. John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale will also star in the film.
