PREVIEW THOUGHTS: Jerry OConnell and Sean Patrick Flannery star is this "party movie" which tells the story of a wild night out for a group of eight twenty-somethings. Told through the eight different perspectives of each of the stars, this movie is something that we have seen all before (American Graffiti, Go to name but a few). With nothing new to offer its viewers, Body Shots seems doomed for mediocrity. Although, Go came out of nowhere last year to become somewhat of a surprise hit so maybe there is a market out there for these sort of films. If you like your films with a bit of substance, steer clear of Body Shots. But if like to get drunk and have wild parties (hang on, thats just about everybody), then maybe you will be able to see the point of this film. Screenwriter David McKenna was responsible for the excellent, and most under-rated, American History X, so he knows how to write quality films. But the subject matter of this film is nowhere near as interesting as American History X, so wait until video before checking this one out, if at all. |
